Are you in a rented car (or driving a family member’s car) and need to fill up the fuel tank? Avoid having to stretch the fuel pump to the other side of the car by simply looking at your fuel gauge before you pull in to the service station and in most model cars these days there will be a small arrow or triangle pointing to the side of the car that you fuel cap is on. Not exactly a big tech tip but one that I thought might be useful (thanks James for reminding me about this one).
