Want to put you phone to silent but still be notified VISUALLY that you have a message? You can turn on the LED on your phone to flash for messages or phone calls. It will do a slow flash for a message and do a continuous flash for a ringing phone. Go to Settings – General – Accessibility – LED for Alert and turn the ‘LED for Alert’ to on (you may need to scroll down to find it). However you also need to do a setting to make it happen when you put your phone to silent (probably the most useful time for it, but I suppose some people may not want it happening when they are in the movies). To make it happen you also need to switch the setting under it ‘Flash on Silent’ to on.
